As you know, Bank of Baroda has been merged with Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank to form a single bank led by the Bank of Baroda itself.
This came into effect after 1st April 2019 and the Government also gave direction to the RBI to facilitate the merger.
There are also other Banks which has been merged to reduce the number of Public Sector banks. This move was done to boost the economy by increasing liquidity, diversifying the risk, and also combating the issue of non-performing assets.
The Government Banks have been significantly reduced from 27 to 12, now this merger will result in many overlapping of Account numbers, IFSC Code, and MICR code which could result in inconvenience.
Now, to avoid this and further facilitate the Account holder, the Bank of Baroda provides you different ways using which you can find your Account Number, MICR Code, and Bank IFSC Code.
If you are a Bank of Baroda Account Holder, your account details will remain the same, and only the account holder of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank is required to get the new account details.

Get New Account Number using Website
You can get your new Account Number from the Bank of Baroda from the official website of Bank of Baroda.
Before the beginning of the migration of your account, you will receive an SMS registered with Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank regarding the migration.
After the migration is completed, you can follow these steps to find your new bank account number-
- Visit the official website of Bank of Baroda and navigate to the Amalgamation section or you can follow this link- https://www.bankofbaroda.in/about-us/amalgamation-migration/
- Now, click on the Old to New Account tab
- A new window will open, here, you have to enter your old Account number associated with Dena Bank or Vijaya Bank
- Now, provide your Bank IFSC Code or MICR Code and fill the captcha correctly followed by clicking on submit button
- Your new account number, IFSC Code, and MICR code will be displayed on the screen
- You can also find your bank branch where this account will be maintained. You can further contact the bank branch and receive other banking details like passbook and cheque book
Get New Account Number using SMS Banking
Another easiest method that you can use to find your new bank account number is to use your registered mobile number to send an SMS and receive the banking details on your number.
For using this service, you are required to have your number registered with Dena Bank or Vijaya Bank. If your mobile number is not registered with the bank, then you cannot use this service.
To find the new account number, you have to send an SMS from your registered mobile number in a specific format to 8422009988.
The pre-defined format for finding a new bank account number is MIGR <SPACE>LAST 4 DIGITS OF OLD eVB ACCOUNT NUMBER. For example-MIGR 3923 [where 3923is the last 4 digits of your old eVB account number]
You’ll receive an auto-response from the bank regarding your bank account details with your new account number, bank branch, Bank of Baroda IFSC code, MICR code.
Other Changes
Apart from the bank branch, account number changes, other changes will be done to facilitate the merger of the bank account.
The following are the other changes that the bank account merger will impose upon Dena and Vijaya Bank customers-
Cheque Book Change
The cheque book issued by the Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank will be honored by the bank until further notice, however, you are required to contact the bank branch and apply for a new cheque book of your new account number.
Credit/Debit Card
The Credit Card and Debit Card issued by Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank can be used as it is without any change. You can use these cards up until the validity of the card. Once, the validity of the card is expired, you’ll have to apply for the Bank of Baroda Debit Card also you have to activate the BOB debit card to use it.
Customer ID change
The customer ID will be changed for the customers of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank and you will be notified about the change regarding the Customer ID.
If you have two bank account one in Bank of Baroda and one in Dena or Vijaya Bank, then, you will be issued a separate Customer ID for Dena or Vijaya Bank account and you can further connect these account to easily access the account especially for net banking and mobile banking services.
Digital Banking Services
You can no longer use the digital banking services provided by Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank. Your bank data migration will set up a new account number in the Bank of BoarBaroda.
Since you’ll receive a new bank account number and IFSC Code of BOB, you have to apply for digital banking services separately to use them. To use the digital banking services, you have to activate Bank of Baroda Net Banking and activate Bank of Baroda Mobile Banking.
