The following are the step by step instructions on how to apply for the Union Bank of India FASTag device-
- Visit the nearest Union Bank of India premises and ask the bank representative for the FASTag application form
- Now, fill the form with correct details like name, address, Vehicle details, etc.
- After filling in the details, attach the documents mentioned above along with the application form and submit it to the bank representative along with the deposit fee
- The bank representative will review your application and forward it for processing
- After processing, your device will be sent to your address via post. It can take at least 7 days
- Now, you’ll have to install it on your vehicle device such that it is visible from outside

You can install FASTag device on your vehicle by entering into your vehicle and pasting the device on the center of the windshield. Make sure to keep the device in such a place that the device is clearly visible from outside so that FASTag scanner can work.
Yes, you need to remove the device before selling the car in the second-hand market. Your FASTag device is issued on your name, address, and ID therefore, you must keep the device with yourself only. Also, you can surrender the device to the bank and the bank will return your deposit fund.
If you do not have the FASTag device installed on your vehicle, then you’ll be charged twice the fee that you would pay otherwise.
If the scanner in the toll booth is not working then as per the government guidelines, you’ll get free transit without having had to pay any cash for it. It will be the toll booth’s responsibility to keep the scanner device maintained and therefore no cash transition can be demanded by the Toll Booth.
For every transaction, you’ll receive an SMS alert on your registered mobile number for the deduction of the funds from your FASTag account.
