How to Apply for Aadhar Card for NRI?

You can Apply for the Aadhar Card for NRI using both online and offline methods. The following are the step-by-step instructions on how to apply for the Aadhar Card for NRIs-

Online Method for NRI Aadhar Card

  • Visit the official website of the UIDAI and navigate to the “Book an Appointment” button from the menu
  • Now, click on the Proceed to Book Appointment button
  • You’ll be redirected to a portal where you’ll have to click on the Non-Resident Indian Button followed by entering the e-Mail ID and solving the captcha
  • An OTP will be sent on your Entered Email ID which you’ll have to enter and verify
  • After verification is done, you’ll have to enter the Aadhar details of the Head of Your Family (HOF) who will enroll you for the Aadhar Card
  • Now, you’ll have to fill out the form with your name, address, Date of Birth, address proof, etc.
  • After that, you’ll have to select the appointment date, time, and place where you’ll visit and enroll for the Aadhar Card
  • Now, an appointment form will be generated which you’ll have to take a printout and carry with you while visiting the enrolment center

Offline Method for NRI Aadhar Card

  • Visit the nearest Aadhar Card Enrollment center or visit the official website of the Aadhar card
  • Now, collect or download the enrolment form from the Aadhar Center or Official website respectively and start filling out the application form with details
  • You’ll have to ensure that you’ve mentioned NRI status on the application form and have filled accurate information on the application form
  • Now, you’ll have to attach the proof of address, date of Birth proof and Mandatory passport copy along with the application form
  • Now, visit the Aadhar Card Enrollment Center and submit the form and documents to the enrolment executive
  • The executive will process your request and you’ll have to give biometric and other mandatory steps for Aadhar enrolment
