This license is called the Commercial Driving License which gives the license holder to operate the commercial vehicle all over the country. Eligibility for Commercial Driving License
The following are the eligibility for the commercial driving license-
- The applicant must be above the age of 18 and must have cleared the 8th class
- A Learners license is a must before applying for the Commercial Driving License
- The learner must be trained from the Government driving school
- All the documents mentioned below should be present
Document required for Commercial License
The following are the document required for applying for the Commercial Driving License-
- Proof of Address (any of the following)
- Passport
- Aadhaar card
- Voter ID
- Ration card
- Utility bills that have been issued in the applicant’s name
- Proof of Identity (any of the following)
- Aadhaar card
- PAN card
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
- 10th Grade mark sheet
- Duly filled Form 2, Form 1A and Form 5
- Passport size photographs
- Application Fee
Apply for Commercial Driving License
The very first step to applying for the commercial license is by applying for the Learners license as this is the primary document that is needed for applying for the Commercial license. You can find the learner license application procedure from this link. After passing the learner license test you are now eligible for the commercial license driving test. You can follow these steps to apply for the learner license test-
- Visit the official Sarthi website that will provide you with a drop-down option to choose your state
- After choosing your state, the page will be refreshed with the RTO office selection option
- Find your nearest RTO Office from the dropdown option
- You will be redirected to the state RTO page where you will be provided with many options
- Select the Apply online option and select the New Driving Licence and click on the continue
- You will be asked with two details like Learner Licence number and DOB fill it and select ok
- Fill the required class of vehicle for which you want to give license test for (in this case commercial driving license)
- Select the desired slot for the Driving Test
- Now you will be required to pay the fee and after fee payment, download the receipt
- After this, you are required to download all the documents along with the Learner license and visit the Transport authority where you have to validate the document
- Now after validating the document you have to visit the RTO Driving Licence test location with your own vehicle and give the test.
