PAN Card offers various categories that can be selected at the time of application of the PAN Card. The category is based on the type of entity that is applying for the PAN Card. It can be an individual, a firm, a company, etc. Sometimes we may require surrendering the PAN Card due to the closure of the business or any other reasons. The surrender of the PAN Card is different for individual and company. A company PAN Card can only be surrendered offline by visiting the office of NSDL or UTIITSL. In this article, we will discuss how to surrender a duplicate PAN Card of a company.
Surrender Duplicate PAN Card of a Company
PAN Card can be surrendered of a company in case the company is dissolved. PAN Card for a company is a very important document as all the ITR Filling is initiated using that PAN Card only. Surrendering this PAN Card will prevent you from getting fined by the income tax department which can range up to Rs. 10,000/-. The company can be of any type like partnership firm, Company, etc. You can only surrender PAN Card offline by following these steps-
- Download the PAN Card application form no-49A that is available from the official website of the NSDL or UTIITSL
- After downloading the Application form you can start filling the application form with the information of your company
- Mention the PAN Card number in item 11 of the form
- After filling the application form you are required to prepare the application for posting to the address
- Along with the application, you are also required to send the Deed of company closure with the application form. Instead of posting you can also visit the PAN Application Centers.
